Annual Report for the year 2016-17 

Honourable Chief Guest of the day Sh D. K Dubey,Chairman,VMC, & Executive Director, NTPC Ramagundam, all the members of the VMC,Worthy Parents , distinguished guests,members of staff and dear children.

I take the opportunity to share with you our Annual Report for the academic year 2016-17. We have completed 37 years with various milestones and now we have grown into a school that has many excellent events to its credit.

I would like to share with you the happy memories about the long strides this Vidyalaya has made in the various fields. But before all that,I am privileged to announce the presence of Sh D. K Dubey,Chairman,VMC, & Executive Director, NTPC Ramagundam. our Chairman Sir is an eminent administrator himself . He has greatly inspired and guided this Vidyalaya’s administration, by giving his valuable guidance in matters pertaining to varied range of issues. I welcome you Sir,on behalf of this Vidyalaya family and on my own behalf to kindly permit me to express my whole hearted gratefulness for providing due directions and support for the management of this institution. Let me also be emphatic in my gratefulness for the time you always spare to listen to our Vidyalaya problems and assuage them by using your good office now and then. I welcome you once again, sir.

I extend a hearty welcome to you,distinguished guests,Members of the VMC,worthy parents, members of the staff of Kendriya Vidyalaya NTPC Ramagundam, Media personnel and my dear students,I welcome you all.

It is with great pleasure that I present to you a brief summary of the school during the year gone by. As always,this year was filled with lots of activities and celabrations,which have showcased the hidden talent of our students and the overwhelming support of our parents and teachers.

Our commitment has been to ensure the overall holistic development of our students, thereby in addition to all our efforts to impart the best education, we also provide equal importance to extra curricular activities like sports, physical education, self development etc. all the school activities updates and photographs are shared in our website

Ladies and gentlemen, Kendiya Vidyalaya NTPC Ramagundam, today is on the forefront in the field of academics. I am happy to announce that over the years the results of this Vidyalaya have shown a rising trend. Both qualitatively and quantitatively, both in internal and external examinations, the performance index is on the rise.

 

ACADEMICS

·        In the CBSE Examinations IN THE YEAR 2016-17, our students have fared very well. The overall percentage in class XII was 100%.  Madan V Kakade has topped with 89%

·        In class X all the students who appeared for the CBSE board examination passed and the result was 100%. It was a remarkable performance by class X students in the AISSE Examinations and out of 65 students, 9 students scored CGPA – 10/10 with A1 in all the 5 subjects.

·        I congratulate these talented children on behalf of the school and on my own personal behalf.

GAMES AND SPORTS

The most important indicator of a good school is its students. The  performance of our  students in the field of games and sports by their continuous effort and dedication to school brought many laurels to their alma mater. Have a glance through the activities of the current academic year (2016-17), a year which witnessed a number of significant achievements.

Voidyalaya has conducted inter house competitions at School level by giving opportunity to all the students for participation in sports and games.

64 Students have participated at KVS regional level in the field of Athletics, Kabaddi, Badminton and Chess.

 05 students selected for participation at KVS National level.

Our under 14 Football team has participated at  Subroto Cup Football at regional level. Vidyalaya got  3 gold, 2 silver & 2 bronze medals at Regional Level.

01 students(Umesh Joshi) has participated at State level Badminton & selected for National level conducted by  Badminton Federatyion of India.

01 student has participated at State level chess tournament.

I congratulate these talented children on behalf of the school and on my own personal behalf.

Vidyalaya has included Yoga classes in the regular time table   for its students. Students have participated at regional level yoga competitions.

 

SCOUTS AND GUIDES ACTIVITIES

Bharath Scouts and Guides Movement is an ever- growing Nationwide Phenomenon. Its motto is “Be Prepared.” It teaches community service, social service and uprightness. In this worldwide campaign.

All the activities were carried out under the directions and co-operation of our Scout Masters, Cub Masters, Guide Captains and Flock Leaders.

Even when it comes to the activities of Scouts and Guides our Vidyalaya has been known for producing achievers of excellence who display an authentic interest towards social welfare.

We have put forward some thrilling information for you.

12 Scouts and  12 Guides  of our Vidyalaya could excel with flying colours in Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp.

08 Scouts and  08 Guides  of our Vidyalaya participated in Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp from which 1 scout and 2 guides selected for Rashtrapati Puraskar.

01 Scouts and  01 Guides got Rashtrapati Puraskar in the year 2016-17.

 Our Scouts and Guides are very proficient in preparing many pioneering Projects. Every now and then they offer service during the Vidyalaya activities and also participate in shramdan programmes like gardening, cleaning of the school campus and so on.

NCC:

Vidyalaya has started NCC Junior wing from the year 2016-17 and 30 students were registered from classes VIII& IX. 17 students have have participated in 10 days NCC camp.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

As co-curricular activities are an integral part of our  Education system, Kendriya Vidyalaya, NTPC Ramagundam had a judicious selection of events for co-curricular activities for the year 2016-17, the activities got momentum with the division of the students in to 4 houses.  All the teachers were similarly divided into 4 groups, each group being headed by a House Master and other teachers to assist him or her. Because of the active and enthusiastic participation of the students of each and every house successfully steered clear through all the programmes, which were incorporated into the list of CCA events for the year.

Students have participated in various competitions conducted by NTPC and other outside organizations also.

Under the active co-operation of all the teachers the CCA programmes proved to be helpful in all round development of the students.

The academic year was peppered with creative events and competitions of all sorts.

Ø 8 students have participated at the regional level National Children Science Congress. And Two students were selected for participation at National Level.

-         8 students have participated at the regional level Jawaharlal Nehru Junior Science and Maths Olympiad and 05 Students have participated in KVS Junior Maths Plympiad.

Students have participated in various Olympiads conducted by SOF, Silver Zone and 10 students qualified for second round of Olympiads.

-         45 students have participated in Social Science cum Integration camp at cluster level and 01 student selected for Regional level.

Ø We are happy to inform you that at present we have a full fledged computer lab, Science labs and library. Computer education is part of regular syllabus for all the students from 3rd standard.

Apart from all these our career and guidance teachers have been constantly giving the Children useful advice and suggestions.

 

PRIMARY WING

The Primary Wing also celebrated “Grand Parents Day” with great pomp.

The primary Section was successful in completing this year’s common minimum programme for the qualitative development of the children. This was achieved by introducing the curriculum of the NCF- 2005. The frame work suggests that the students should be able to “Connect Knowledge to Life Outside School” and “Ensure that learning is shifted away from rote methods.” By stressing on these methods we have been able to improve the quality of teaching/ learning process in the primary classes.

Here I must not fail to state that our Vidyalaya observed all the important National Days like Independence Day, Republic Day, Birth Days of Great National Leaders, Children’s Day and Teacher’s Day in the most befitting manner.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, NTPC Ramagundam, today is a throbbing centre of academic activities. Most of the Parents are well aware of the infrastructure assistances provided to the KVians Aqua Guard for drinking water, Periodical health Checkups, Daily thorough cleaning of the class rooms, other rooms and the wash rooms and the list is endless.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a great pleasure in announcing that The Vidyalaya possesses Multimedia LCD projectors for both Primary and Secondary section separately, computers with net facility, colour TV,  OHP projectors and IT packages in all the subjects. All the departments’ staff rooms and the principals chamber are well equipped with computers having internet facilities. In this way technology aided learning is being given the utmost priority.

We have a well equipped library consisting of a wide range of story books, reference books, study material, magazines, several newspapers, text books etc. each year we still enrich our collection by purchasing more and more books. We now own a wide gamut of books for the benefit of the students and the teachers alike.

As for the school furniture we always aim for the most convenient furniture for one and all and purchase as and when the need arises.

We have purchased many saplings and plants and are deeply involved in the activity of beautifying the Vidyalaya premises with sylvan surroundings.

STAFF NEWS

Kendriya Vidyalaya aims at strengthening academics and administration and therefore thus not allow stagnation to check the development. Hence every year teachers and other employees are sent for a wide gamut of in-service courses and short duration courses to come back more enriched and thereby perform with greater efficiency in their respective fields.

This year too the members of our staff attended such programmes.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To sum up,I have made all efforts and I have tried to incorporate as much of the information as is possible in such a short span of time, Ladies and Gentlemen. The students of this school have been aspiring to excel in all walks of life. I sincerely believe that with a little more awareness, Kendriya Vidyalaya NTPC Ramagundam shall serve you better. Let the glorious tradition of imparting education not be drained by the apathetic laziness.

 

Worthy parents, your responsibility is all the more important. Do co-operate with us and we will see the Vidyalaya at the heights that destiny has in store for it. Before concluding, I pray to the Lord Almighty to bless our students to grow in life. We are human. We’ll try. With perseverance even sky is not the limit.

 

 

Let me take this opportunity to thank the Chairman for his benign presence. The cultural program that is going to be presented before you is just the glimpse of many of the activities taken by our children under the able guidance of many of our teachers. I am sure you would enjoy the programme presented by our students this evening. I thank you one and all for the patient and constant support given to our school. I welcome you all once again. REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2014-15

 

Honourable Chief Guest,  Shri P K Mohapatra, GGM, NTPC, Ramagundam and Chairman, Vidyalaya Management Committee, Distinguished members of the Vidyalaya Management Committee, Revered members of the Parent Teachers Association, Respected parents, guests , dear colleagues and beloved students.

 

I deem it a great privilege to extend a warm welcome to you all to the 33rd Annual Day Celebrations of this Vidyalaya.  I warmly welcome Shri P K Mohapatra, Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee and GGM, NTPC, Ramagundam.  I am proud to say that Shri  P K Mohapatra has been the guiding spirit behind every activity of the Vidyalaya.  We are fortunate to have such a distinguished personality as the Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee.  The Vidyalaya Staff warmly welcomes our Chairman for gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest of our Annual Day Celebrations.

The Vidyalaya Community warmly welcomes all the members of the Vidyalaya Management Committee, Parent Teachers Association and distinguished parents and guests.

 

It gives me immense pleasure to present a brief report on the activities and achievements of this Vidyalaya for the academic year 2014-15. 

 

This Vidyalaya was established by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, in the year 1980.  At present around 650 students are studying in this vidyalaya under the stewardship of well qualified  teaching staff.

 

Academic Programmes:

Overall  -- A good performance was shown by classes I to IX and XI during 2014-15 in Formative and Summative Assessments.  The Pass % was 100%.  Last year for the academic year 2013-2014 we achieved 100% qualitative result in classes X and XII.  Our Vidyalaya stood first in Class XII in the result of Hyderabad Region with qualitative and quantitative performance.In X class 6 students got 10 CGPA and got a cash award of 5000 Rs each as an appreciation from kvs. The results of classes X and XII are awaited for the academic year 2014-2015. 

 

Co-Curricular Activities:

To develop leadership qualities and spirit of healthy competition in the young minds of the children, we have conducted various competitions under co-curricular Activities .  We are proud to say that our students secured a good number of prizes in outside competitions and also in all the programmes conducted by NTPC, Ramagundam. Besides these the Vidyalaya has celebrated Hindi Pakhwada, Sanskrit week and Mathematics week and raised the academic standards of students.

 

 In sports and games, our students had participated at cluster level, Regional level and National level competitions conducted by KVS. O ANISH of XII class got selected for SGFI(school games federation of india) in atheletics and a few students competed in national games as well.

 

Our exhibit -Ancient Egypt (mask) and write up got selected for regional level social science exhibition and our dance got selected in cluster level social science exhibition.

Our school participated in regional science exhibition & also in regional science congress which were held in Hyderabad.

 

In scouts and guides program One of our student Master Shiva Sai Nagendra got selected in RASHTRAPATI PURASKAR.

 

One of our student Ms.Sanjana Sahoo got selected in national level science Olympiad.

 

It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction to lead a team of dedicated and affectionate staff members and lovable and responsive students backed by an enlightened and helpful parent community.

 

Finally I thank all the members of Staff, Parents, NTPC Officials and dignitaries present over here , Sister Vidyalayas  without whose unflinching co-operation and active involvement, the activities of the Vidyalaya would not have been a success.

REPORT FOR THE YEAR – 2013-14

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE VIDYALAYA:

This vidyalaya was established by Kendriya vidyalaya sangathan, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. Of India, in the year 1980.  At present 650 students are studying in this  vidyalaya under the stewardship of well qualified 35 teaching staff.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES:

Overall Excellent performance was shown by classes I to IX and XI during 2013-14 in Formative and Summative Assessments.  The pass percentage was 100% .  The results of classes X and XII are awaited.  Last year, we achieved 100% qualitative result in classes X and XII.  In class X, Five students secured 10 CGPA and in class XII, our vidyalaya stood first in Hyderabad Region in qualitative and quantitative results and secured 83.54 Performance Index which was highest in the region.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

We had conducted various competitions under co-curricular Activities specially on the occasions of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda , youth festival, Road Safety, Golden Jubilee Celebrations of KVS, Vigilence Awareness Week, Fire Safety Week, AEP and all programmes conducted by NTPC.

HINDI PAKHWADA:

Around 300 students had participated in various competitions organised by NTPC on the eve of Hindi Pakhwada. Our vidyalaya got First Prize in Rajbasha Rally organised by NTPC. We received NTPC Rajbhasha Shield in Rajbhasha Rally organised by NTPC during Hindi Week.  Sri Vishwakarma, PGT (Hindi) won Second Prize in Poem writing competition  held at All India Level.

OLYMPIADS: (MATHS, SCIENCE, ENGLISH & HINDI)

We are proud to declare that a good number of students had participated in the International Olympiads of Mathematics, Science, English and Hindi and won gold, silver and bronze medals. We received 7 gold medals in Maths Olympiad, 6 gold medals in Science Olympiad, 10 gold medals in English Language Olympiad and 6 gold medals, a Mobile phone, a Wrist watch and an Executive pen in Hindi Olympiad.  Sanjana Sahu of Class VIII received Rs.1000 cash prize for her best performance in International  Mathematics Olympiad and National Science Olympiad at level 2 examination.

SPORTS AND GAMES:

In Sports and Games category, 27 students had participated  in the KVS Hyderabad Regional meet and bagged 2 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze  medals.  Anish of class XII won gold medal in KVS National Meet.  Pankaj Kispotta of class XII represented Hockey team and won gold medal in KVS National Meet.  Volley ball and Throw ball teams of our vidyalaya won the championship in the Golden Jubilee celebrations.  Our vidyalaya Boys and Girls teams were declared the best platoons in march past in Independence Day and Republic Day Celebrations held at NTPC Stadium.

ADVENTURE PROGRAMME:

Besides these 22 boys and 4 girls participated in mountaineering, rock climbing , trekking, rappelling, river crossing, craft survival and leadership under the Adventure Programme held at Manali, Himachal Pradesh.  

TOURS & EXCURSION:

150 students along with 10 escort teachers visited Warangal fort, Durga temple and Thousand Pillars Temples under educational tour.  40 students along with 4 escort teachers visited Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad and 120 students of higher classes had visited Medical Science exhibition held at Chalameda Medical College, Karim Nagar.

EXHIBITIONS:

14 groups of students had participated in cluster level Science Exhibition and 6 models were selected for regional level exhibition.  Shrabani Naik of class XII won First prize  in regional level seminar.  35 students had participated at cluster level social science exhibition. Our vidyalaya won second prize in Dance, first prize in hindi debate at regional level competitions.

SCOUT AND GUIDES:

90 scouts and 80 guides had been registered in the vidyalaya for taking part in scouts and guides activities. 8 scouts and 8 guides had participated in thrithiya sopan camp at Tirumalgiri. 3 scouts and 2 guides attended pre-Rajya Puraskar at Tirupati. 2 scouts and one guide attended the testing camp for Rajya Puraskar at Trichi. Chardam Rally was conducted in NTPC and collected Rs. 6723 towards donation to help the victims of Chardam.

Finally, it gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction to lead a team of dedicated and affectionate staff members and lovable and responsive students backed by an enlightened and helpful parent community.

I thank all the members of the staff, parents, NTPC officials, sister vidyalayas, without whose unflinching co-operation and active involvement, the activities of the vidyalaya, would not have been a success.
